This little mammal that lives close to fishy waters beats the water when it wants to go fishing. The scared fish hide in holes in which the otter can easily seize them. Its fangs planted in the head of its victim, it returns to the ground to enjoy its catch. Its elongated body and sleek fur allow it to swim and dive marvelously. The Common Otter is about a meter long, not more than 35 centimeters tall and weighs 10 to 12 kilograms. In the water, its fur is enveloped by a layer of air, and even after a long stay in the water its fur dries rapidly. This animal, very harmful to fishing, is hunted for its fur, as beautiful as it is warm and durable. END
